Pyrus calleryana 'Aristocrat' - Deciduous

Size and Shape:

One of the more recent Ornamental Pear introductions, the Aristocrat Pear has an oval to pyramidal shape, with a more dominant trunk and open form.  It has a typical mature height of 10 to 12 metres and a spread of 6 to 8 metres.

Features:

Dark green leaves change to a showy red Autumn colour.  Pure white flowers provide a spectacular display in Spring.  Its small, pea-sized, red-brown fruits are quite attractive to birds.

Uses in the Landscape:

Resistant to pollution and tolerant of small soil spaces and occasional waterlogging, Pyrus calleryana 'Aristocrat' is commonly planted as a street tree or in parking lot islands.

Comments:

Has a rapid growth rate and thrives in a range of soils and conditions.  Branches droop with age, but can be pruned to maintain clearance under canopy.  Requires some protection from sustained high winds.

Availability:

The Aristocrat Pears are grown in a range of advanced sizes from 1.5 metre semi-advanced plants up to 7 to 8 metre plus Super Advanced Specimen Trees.  For optimal long-term performance in the landscape, they are field grown in Root Control Bags and container grown in SpringRing Air Pruning Containers ranging from 25 litre to 1000 litre.  As our stock levels change daily, please enquire for current availability.
