Pyrus calleryana 'Glensform' Chanticleer - Deciduous

Size and Shape:

A medium sized upright tree typically growing to 11 metres tall and 3 to 5 metres wide, Pyrus calleryana 'Glensform' Chanticleer has a dense habit with a symetrical narrow shape.  Branches grow mostly upright and do not droop.  Grows quickly to mature height.

As with many other Ornamental Pears, the Chanticleer has showy white flowers in Spring.  Glossy dark green leaves turn to yellow, orange and plum-red in Autumn.  Has small pea-sized fruits that are attractive to birds and other wildlife.

Uses in the Landscape:

A versatile and hardy tree, the Chanticleer Pear is suitable for a range of applications.  Whether as an attractive specimen, a shade tree, or in street plantings, this tree excels.

While Chanticleer Pears will tolerate a range of soil conditions, including intermittent waterlogging, they grow best in humus rich, well drained soil in a full sun position.  Has good resistance to pests and disease, and is less susceptible to wind damage than many other Pyrus cultivars.

The Chanticleer Pears are grown in a range of advanced sizes from 1.5 metre semi-advanced plants up to 7 to 8 metre plus Super Advanced Specimen Trees.  For optimal long-term performance in the landscape, they are field grown in Root Control Bags and container grown in SpringRing Air Pruning Containers from 25 litre to 1000 litre.  As our stock levels change daily, please enquire for current availability.
